Together, our Foundation and local leaders hope to cut the number of opioid overdoses in half by 2024.
Have you or someone you know been impacted by opioid addiction? Addiction ruins many lives and hurts families. We hope to create change, but it can only be done together, as a community.
In 2021, our Foundation was one of the largest financial contributors to combatting the opioid crisis in Florida with an investment of $1.7 million. The funds went to sponsor the expansion of Project Opioid, a non-profit organization that offers resources to help empower community leaders in confronting the opioid crisis in their area. Because of this expansion, Project Opioid was able to go beyond Orlando to reach local coalitions in Florida’s other large markets: Jacksonville, Tampa, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami.
In 2021, we also partnered with New Directions Behavioral Health and Shatterproof. This partnership makes it easier for Floridians to access quality addiction treatment, connecting them with trained counselors, and the care they need to break the cycle.
